IT’S GREAT TO HAVE YOUR CHILD JOINING KiddiCode CLUB!
It’s super easy to join our classes. We will send you log in details by email before start of the club.
If you don’t have the required equipment or internet connection, we can deliver second hand equipment for your child to use. Let us know in the application form what equipment you have, so we’ll have enough time to sort it all out.
Your child will need the following to attend online classes;
- A desktop or laptop computer
- Web camera (it needs to work for safety reasons)
- Min screen size 14"
- Broadband internet connection
Joining our coding club is super easy. You do not need to install any software to join. The class is run via our website, on our integrated learning environment called OLIO.
We strongly recommend you test logging in well in advance before start of the club, so we have time to help you if needed.
We use integrated Zoom for the video connection. Zoom does not work with very old operating systems or web browsers.
- Supported operating systems are Windows 7 or MacOS 10.9 or newer.
- Supported webs browsers are Chrome 30+, Edge 12+ and Firefox 27+.

ATTENTION! MAC USERS;
Use Chrome browser to join the class as some Zoom functions are not available for users in Safari browser. If you don’t have Chrome on you Mac, you can easily download it here >> download Chrome for Mac.
If we have provided you with equipment, we have already checked and set it up for you, so all you need to do is log in for the classes.

HOW TO JOIN THE CLASS;

Login with the link and password we sent you.

You can see the code editor and Zoom underneath each other on the screen. If you cannot see the Trinket code editor at the bottom, zoom out to approximately 80% on your browser setting. You do not have to see the Trinket fully.

Type your child’s first name on the Zoom screen name field and click “JOIN”.

Click “JOIN” button on the next screen to join the class.

Zoom will ask if you allow it to use your audio and video. Allow both.
You can turn the microphone and camera on on two different locations on the browser.
1. Click the image of a padlock on right hand side of the browser search bar (image 1.) and choose “Allow”, or
2. Click the image of a camera on the left hand side of the browser search bar (image 2.) and choose “Continue allowing…”.
Wait until your teacher arrives.

Zoom controls;
Turn the microphone and camera on on the left hand bottom corner, unless they are already on. Choose “Same as system” under the arrow if they don’t seem to be working.
In the middle of the screen you can see a green “Share Screen” button, which we willbe using during the class.
# HELP WITH LOGIN
Make sure you type in your password correctly. If you are still having trouble logging in, the likely culprit is browser cache.
Go to your web browser setting and clear the cache. In Chrome you can find this on the top right hand corner as shown in the image.
DO THE FOLLOWING:
Settings >> Privacy and security >> Clear browsing data >> Cached images and files >> Clear.
BEFORE THE CLASS-
!!! Log in 5min before start of the club.
!!! Also test your microphone and camera so that your KiddiCoder is able to communicate with us.
Contact us immediately if you face any problems with logging in as we may not be able to help once the club has already started.
